Weight Watcher Friendly - This delicious dessert is only 4 smart points when you slice your strawberry cobbler into 16 squares.
Since the new Weight Watchers plan is personalized you will have to input the ingredients used to get your exact points.
Easy to Make - This homemade Strawberry Cobbler Dump Cake requires only a handful of simple ingredients and 40 minutes of bake time.
Ingredients needed and substitutions:
Strawberries - We used 4 cups of fresh berries for this easy dessert recipe. You can swap the strawberries for blackberries to make a blackberry dump cake or swap for cherries and make a cherry dump cake.
If you can find fresh rhubarb try adding that to the mix for a strawberry rhubarb cobbler..yum! The ideas are endless.
Rolled Oats - Quick cooking rolled oats were used for this simple strawberry cobbler. You can swap with Gluten free rolled oats or old fashioned rolled oats, they all work great for this dump cake recipe.
Coconut Sugar - I like to use coconut sugar as it is plant based and has many nutrients. You can use cane sugar or you could even use a sugar substitute like Truvia.
How to make Strawberry Cobbler Dump Cake
1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2: Prepare the Strawberry Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cubed strawberries, honey or maple syrup (if using), vanilla extract, lemon juice, and cornstarch or arrowroot powder. Mix well until the strawberries are evenly coated.
3: Spread the strawberry mixture evenly in a greased 9x9 inch (or similar size) baking dish.
4: Prepare the Topping: In another mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, almond flour, coconut sugar, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt. Stir to combine. Add the melted coconut oil and almond milk to the dry ingredients. Mix until everything is well combined and the mixture is crumbly.
5: Top the Strawberries: Sprinkle the crumb mixture evenly over the strawberries in baking pan.
6: Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the strawberries are bubbly.
7: Cool and Serve:
- Allow the cobbler to cool for a few minutes before serving. This allows the filling to set slightly.
- Serve warm, optionally with a dollop of Greek yogurt or a scoop of your favorite ice cream for an added treat.

Expert Tips & Optional Variations
- Use Fresh Fruit: Opt for fresh strawberries to achieve the best flavor and texture in your cobbler. Ripe, juicy strawberries will make your cake irresistibly sweet and moist.
- Room Temperature Ingredients: Ensure your ingredients, especially the melted coconut oil, butter and cream cheese, are at room temperature. This helps them mix more evenly with the other ingredients.
- Thin Slices of Butter: If adding butter cut your butter into thin slices and distribute them evenly over the cake mix. This ensures even melting and a golden, crispy top.
- Melted Butter: Drizzle melted butter over the crumble topping to help create a rich, buttery crust on top. This technique is key for a perfect cobbler texture.
- Cream Cheese Swirls: Add dollops of cream cheese on top of the strawberries. As it bakes, the cream cheese will create delightful, creamy pockets in your cobbler.
- Cooking Spray: Coat your baking dish with cooking spray to prevent sticking and make serving easier.
- Airtight Container: Store any leftovers in an airtight container to keep your cobbler fresh. It will last for several days when properly stored.
- Plastic Wrap: Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap before refrigerating leftovers to maintain moisture and flavor.
- Aluminum Foil: If your cobbler starts to brown too quickly, cover it loosely with aluminum foil to prevent burning while it finishes baking.
- Add Other Fruits: Don’t be afraid to mix in other fresh fruits like blueberries or peaches for a more complex flavor profile.
- Check for Doneness: Use a toothpick or knife to check if the cobbler is done. It should come out clean when inserted into the center.
- Cooling Time: Allow your cobbler to cool for at least 15-20 minutes before serving. This helps the juices thicken and makes it easier to serve.
- Serving Suggestions: Serve your strawberry cobbler warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra special treat.
