Description

Do you love indulging in delicious desserts that require minimal effort? If so, you're in for a treat with this easy Strawberry Cobbler Dump Cake recipe!

This delightful dessert is perfect for this time of the year, featuring the sweet strawberry flavor of fresh strawberries and the rich, caramel-like taste of coconut sugar.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • Filling - 4 Cups of Fresh Strawberries, hulled and cubed.
  • 1 Tablespoon of Honey or Maple Syrup
  • 1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Tablespoon of Lemon Juice
  • 2 Tablespoons of Corn Starch
  • Topping - 1 Cup of Rolled Oats
  • 1/2 cup of Almond Flour
  • 1/4 cup of Coconut Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon of Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 Teaspoon of Sea Salt
  • 1/4 cup of Melted Coconut Oil
  • 1/4 cup of Unsweetened Almond Milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Prepare the Strawberry Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the strawberries, honey or maple syrup (if using), vanilla extract, lemon juice, and cornstarch or arrowroot powder. Mix well until the strawberries are evenly coated.
  3. Spread the strawberry mixture evenly in a greased 9x9 inch (or similar size) baking dish.
  4. Prepare the Topping: In another mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, almond flour, coconut sugar, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt. Stir to combine. Add the melted coconut oil and almond milk to the dry ingredients. Mix until everything is well combined and the mixture is crumbly.
  5. Top the Strawberries: Sprinkle the crumb mixture evenly over the strawberries in the pie crust.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the strawberries are bubbly.
  7. Cool and Serve:
  8. Allow the cobbler to cool for a few minutes before serving. This allows the filling to set slightly.
  9. Serve warm, optionally with a dollop of Greek yogurt or a scoop of your favorite ice cream for an added treat.

Notes

Use Fresh Fruit: Opt for fresh strawberries to achieve the best flavor and texture in your cobbler. Ripe, juicy strawberries will make your cake irresistibly sweet and moist.

  • Room Temperature Ingredients: Ensure your ingredients, especially the melted coconut oil, butter and cream cheese, are at room temperature. This helps them mix more evenly with the other ingredients.
  • Thin Slices of Butter: If adding butter cut your butter into thin slices and distribute them evenly over the cake mix. This ensures even melting and a golden, crispy top.
  • Melted Butter: Drizzle melted butter over the crumble topping to help create a rich, buttery crust on top. This technique is key for a perfect cobbler texture.
  • Cream Cheese Swirls: Add dollops of cream cheese on top of the strawberries. As it bakes, the cream cheese will create delightful, creamy pockets in your cobbler.
  • Cooking Spray: Coat your baking dish with cooking spray to prevent sticking and make serving easier.
  • Airtight Container: Store any leftovers in an airtight container to keep your cobbler fresh. It will last for several days when properly stored.
  • Plastic Wrap: Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap before refrigerating leftovers to maintain moisture and flavor.
  • Aluminum Foil: If your cobbler starts to brown too quickly, cover it loosely with aluminum foil to prevent burning while it finishes baking.
  • Add Other Fruits: Don’t be afraid to mix in other fresh fruits like blueberries or peaches for a more complex flavor profile.
  • Check for Doneness: Use a toothpick or knife to check if the cobbler is done. It should come out clean when inserted into the center.
  • Cooling Time: Allow your cobbler to cool for at least 15-20 minutes before serving. This helps the juices thicken and makes it easier to serve.
  • Serving Suggestions: Serve your strawberry cobbler warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra special treat.
