Recipe FAQ's
Not really. Freezing the Ninja Creami Pint cup for 24 hours before blending is recommended for achieving the best results. They claim this ensures that the ingredients are properly chilled and allows for optimal blending and texture when making frozen treats like ice cream or sorbet. But I found that freezing for as little as 5-6 hours worked just as well.
When using a Ninja Creami, it's important to avoid ingredients that can potentially damage the appliance or result in an undesirable texture or flavor. Here are some things you should avoid putting in your Ninja Creami:
Hard or frozen solids: Avoid putting in whole frozen fruits or large pieces of ice without proper pre-processing. These can damage the blades or strain the motor.
Very thick mixtures: Extremely thick mixtures, like dense cookie dough or unthinned nut butter, can strain the motor and may not blend evenly.
Dry ingredients without enough liquid: Adding dry ingredients without sufficient liquid can result in a thick paste that may be difficult to blend and could strain the motor.
Carbonated beverages: Avoid using carbonated beverages in the Creami as the pressure buildup could lead to leaks or damage.
Hot liquids: Never blend hot liquids in the Creami, as the pressure buildup can be dangerous. Allow hot liquids to cool before blending.
Ingredients that aren't food-safe: Avoid using non-food-safe items like plastic wrap, foil, or non-edible decorations inside the Creami.
The Ninja Creami Deluxe version expands upon the original Ninja Creami, which offers seven functions (ice cream, sorbet, lite ice cream, gelato, milkshake, smoothie bowl, and mix-in) while the Deluxe offers 11 (it adds slushy, Italian ice, frozen drink, Creamiccino, and frozen yogurt to the mix). Overall, while both models are capable of producing delicious frozen treats, the Deluxe version offers enhanced capacity and features for those who want more versatility and convenience in their frozen treat-making experience.
