This pear muffin recipe is a delicious way to turn ripe Bartlett pears, Bosc pears, or even overripe pears into an easy breakfast, great snack, or wholesome dessert.
Made with simple pantry staples and wholesome ingredients, these pear crumble muffins are one of my favorite recipes to bake when I want juicy pear muffins with just the right amount of sweetness.
To create the best texture and pear flavor, you'll combine flour mixture with wet ingredients like Greek yogurt, eggs and vanilla in a large mixing bowl, then fold in diced pears or grated pear for juicy bits of pear in every bite.
The muffin batter comes together quickly in a medium bowl or separate bowl, then is divided into muffin cups lined with muffin liners or placed in a muffin tin sprayed with cooking spray.
The best part? The crumb topping-made with coconut sugar or brown sugar, cubed butter (or coconut oil/olive oil for a lighter twist), almond flour, and your favorite graham cracker crumbs or crushed nuts-adds a crunchy streusel that makes these healthy pear muffins taste like a bakery-style treat.
Whether you're making this delicious recipe with fresh pears from the grocery store or canned pears from your pantry, you'll love how much moisture the chopped pears add to the muffin pan.
Once baked, let the moist muffins cool on a wire rack, then store leftovers in an airtight container for a great way to enjoy healthy muffins all week long.
With their fluffy muffins texture, warm spices like nutmeg and cinnamon, and pear flavor that shines, these easy pear muffins truly belong among the most delicious muffin recipes and healthy recipes you'll want to add to your favorite recipes collection.

Ingredients needed for Pear Crumble Muffins

Bosc Pears - Bosc pears are one of the best pears for baking because they hold their shape and have a naturally sweet, slightly spiced flavor that pairs beautifully with warm spices. If you don't have Bosc, ripe Bartlett pears, canned pears, or even overripe pears will also work in this pear muffin recipe.
All-Purpose Flour - Classic purpose flour helps create the best texture in the muffin batter. For a healthier twist, you can swap half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour to add more fiber and a nutty flavor without sacrificing a moist muffin crumb.
Coconut Sugar - Coconut sugar adds the right amount of sweetness with a subtle caramel flavor and a lower glycemic index compared to regular brown sugar. If you prefer, you can substitute light brown sugar or even a mix of maple syrup and granulated sugar for a slightly different flavor combination.
Greek Yogurt - Using Greek yogurt in the wet ingredients helps give these healthy pear muffins better texture and keeps them moist without adding much fat. If you don't have Greek yogurt on hand, you can substitute sour cream, plain yogurt, oat milk, or soy milk for similar results.
How to Make Healthy Cinnamon Pear Muffins
1: Preheat oven to 350 Degrees F. Line a 12 cup muffin tin with parchment liners.

2: Make your crumble - mix graham cracker crumbs, almond flour, coconut sugar, cinnamon and butter and set aside.

3: Prep your pears - Peel your pears and dice into small chunks - pat with a dry paper towel to absorb excess moisture. This will help avoid soggy muffins.

4: In a large bowl whisk together your dry ingredients - flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, coconut sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.

5: In a separate bowl mix your wet ingredients - Greek yogurt, avocado oil, maple syrup, eggs and vanilla extract.

6: Gently add your dry ingredient to your wet ingredients; mix until combined. Gently fold in your diced pears.

7: Fill muffin cups. Divide batter evenly filling about ¾ full. Top with crumble pressing lightly so it sticks.

8: Bake 22-25 minutes, until muffins are golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

9: Cool 5 minutes in the pan then transfer to a wire rack to continue cooling. Enjoy!!!

🧑🍳 Expert Tips for the Best Cinnamon Pear Muffins
- Choose the Right Pears - Bosc pears or ripe Bartlett pears work best since they hold their shape when baked. Overripe pears are great for adding extra moisture and juicy pear flavor.
- Dice Pears Small - Cut pears into small pieces so they bake evenly and distribute juicy bits of pear throughout the muffin batter. Too large and they may sink to the bottom.
- Pat Pears Dry - After dicing, lightly pat pears with a paper towel to reduce excess moisture. This prevents soggy muffins and helps keep the best texture.
- Don't Overmix the Batter - Combine wet ingredients and dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl just until the flour mixture disappears. Overmixing can lead to dense muffins instead of fluffy muffins.
- Use Room Temperature Ingredients - Ingredients like Greek yogurt and eggs blend better at room temperature, resulting in a smoother batter and better rise.
- Customize the Crumble Topping - The crumb topping can be made with brown sugar, coconut sugar, or even a touch of maple syrup. Add your favorite nuts, oats, or spices for a crunchy streusel topping twist.
- Fill Muffin Cups Evenly - Use a cookie scoop or measuring cup to portion batter into a muffin pan lined with muffin liners. This ensures even baking and perfectly sized muffins.
- Check Doneness Correctly - Insert a toothpick into the center of a muffin. It should come out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs - not wet batter.
- Cool Before Storing - Let muffins cool on a wire rack before transferring to an airtight container. Storing warm muffins traps steam and makes them soggy.
- Storage Tips - Store muffins in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or in the fridge for 4-5 days. For longer storage, freeze muffins individually in a freezer-safe bag for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave or oven for that fresh-baked taste.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions About Healthy Cinnamon Pear Crumble Muffins

Yes! For healthy pear muffins with better texture, try swapping half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour, use Greek yogurt or sour cream in place of oil, and substitute coconut sugar for brown sugar. These swaps create wholesome ingredients without sacrificing flavor.
Once cooled on a wire rack, store muffins in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 days or in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. For longer storage, freeze muffins individually wrapped and thaw as needed. This keeps your muffins moist while maintaining the crunchy streusel topping.
