Are you like me and want to Avoid Holiday Weight Gain? Check out these 5 secrets, so you don't have to dread getting on the scale after a joyous Holiday Meal.
Secret #1:
Do not wear your Buffet Pants. What are Buffet Pants you ask, that would be anything that stretches. Elastic waistband, no good. Stretchy pants although comfortable, DO NOT wear them. If you put on loose comfortable pants you are just inviting yourself to over eat. Wear a comfortable pair of jeans or dress pants that have a waistband that does not expand so you will feel when you are full and you will avoid holiday weight gain.
Secret #2:
Go for the Veggies, Low Fat Cheese and Proteins on the party platter. Picking at the Appetizer tray can add up the calories quick, so pace yourself. Take small bites and eat slowly, enjoy what you eat. It takes your brain about 20 minutes to realize you are full so give it time to process what you are eating.
Secret #3:
Stay Hydrated. Drink a large glass of water, seltzer or Herbal Tea before you sit down, and during Dinner. This will fill your stomach up, less chance to overeat and it's good for you.
Secret #4:
After Dinner get a group to go for a 10 minute walk before Dessert is served. With any luck you will get out of cleaning the table and washing dishes LOL.
Secret #5:
For Dessert time, go for quality over quantity. Instead of eating everything served, choose the items that you really enjoy. Eat what you love and enjoy eating it by taking time to savour every bite.
Bonus Secret:
Take time to give thanks for all your blessings. Holidays are designed to bring family and friends together. Take a moment to reflect and appreciate everything and everyone that you are blessed to have in your life. Be appreciative of family and friends bestowed upon you. Don't forget to laugh a lot and have fun, play games and watch football as those are totally fat free.
If you gain a pound or two don't worry just remember I will be here and we will work it off together.
Happy Holiday's, and Thank You for making SueSeaQPI a part of your life. All the best
