Description

If you’ve ever wished you could enjoy a rich, creamy chocolate dessert without the heavy cream and extra calories, this Easy 3 Ingredient Chocolate Cottage Cheese Mousse might just become your new favorite.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup of Cottage Cheese ( 2% or Fat Free for lower WW Pts)
  • 2 Tablespoons of Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 2 Tablespoons of Maple Syrup or 2 Tablespoons of Granulated Stevia ( Zero Pts on WW)

Instructions

  1. Add cottage cheese, unsweetened cocoa powder and maple syrup to a food processor or high speed blender.
  2. Blend for 1-2 minutes until completely smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed. Taste and adjust sweetness as desired.
  3. Chill for 30-60 minutes for a thicker mousse texture.
  4. Spoon into serving dishes or your favorite mason jar and enjoy!

Notes

  1. Use full-fat cottage cheese for the richest texture.
Low-fat works, but full-fat blends smoother and gives that true mousse-like creaminess.
  2. Blend longer than you think you need to.
Most graininess comes from under-blending. Let it run 60–90 seconds and scrape down the sides halfway through.
  3. Use a high-speed blender or food processor.
A basic blender can work, but high-speed machines create the silkiest finish.
  4. Sift the cocoa powder first.
This prevents clumps and helps the chocolate distribute evenly throughout the mousse.
  5. Warm your sweetener slightly if using honey.
Thick honey can seize up in cold mixtures. A quick 5-second warm-up makes blending easier.
  6. Taste and adjust before chilling.
Cold dulls sweetness. Make it slightly sweeter than you think it should be before refrigerating.
  7. Add a pinch of salt.
Even a tiny amount enhances the chocolate flavor and balances sweetness.
  8. Chill for at least 30–60 minutes.
This thickens the mousse and deepens the chocolate flavor.
  9. For ultra-smooth texture, strain if needed.
If you’re particular about texture, push the blended mousse through a fine mesh sieve.
  10. Boost flavor without adding ingredients to the “3.”
A splash of vanilla extract or espresso powder intensifies the chocolate flavor without changing the base concept.
