- 1/2 Tablespoon of Olive Oil
- 1 Onion Chopped
- 1/4 up of Diced Carrots
- 1/4 cup of Diced Celery
- 1 Tablespoon of Diced Garlic
- 1 pound of Organic Ground Beef
- One Packet of Taco Seasoning Mix
- 6 Flour Tortillas
- 1 Teaspoon of Paprika
- 1 Tablespoon of Sesame Seeds
- 1 cup of Shredded Cheddar Cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, then add the diced onion, carrots, celery, and garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are softened and aromatic.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook over medium heat, breaking it up with a spoon, until fully browned and cooked through.
- Stir in the Old El Paso taco seasoning and simmer until the mixture thickens and is well combined.
- Arrange the tortillas on the prepared sheet pan. Evenly divide the cooked ground beef among the tortillas, sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese, then fold each tortilla in half.
- Brush each side of the folded tortillas with olive oil, then evenly sprinkle with paprika and sesame seeds.
- Bake for 15 minutes, or until the tortillas are crispy and lightly golden.
Notes
- Use lean ground beef for best texture
Lean beef keeps the filling flavorful without releasing excess grease, which helps the tortillas crisp instead of turning soggy. - Drain the beef well before filling the tortillas
Removing excess grease is one of the biggest keys to achieving crispy, oven-baked tacos. - Don’t overfill the tacos
A modest amount of beef and cheese allows the tortillas to fold easily and bake evenly without spilling. - Brush both sides of the tortillas lightly with oil
A thin layer of olive oil helps the tortillas turn golden and crisp without adding unnecessary calories. - Leave space between tacos on the sheet pan
Air circulation helps the tacos bake evenly and crisp on all sides. - Flip halfway for extra crispiness (optional)
If you want ultra-crispy tacos, gently flip them halfway through baking. - Line the pan with parchment paper
This prevents sticking and makes cleanup quick and easy on busy nights. - Try healthier dipping sauces
Serve with light sour cream, plain Greek yogurt, or an avocado lime crema for a creamy dip with less fat. - Add fresh toppings after baking
Pico de gallo, shredded lettuce, or a squeeze of lime juice add freshness without weighing the tacos down. - Store leftovers the right way
Keep leftover tacos in an airtight container in the refrigerator and reheat in the oven or air fryer to bring back the crispiness.
